oh cool! I really like the one on the right. Makes me nostalgia about FF Tactics. I think it's the approach on the whole lower body and the neckguard. Verrehnice.

Oh I love FF Tictacs and Algus is a dirty bastard. It's FF9 that eluded my grasp. Monks and Lancers had to be my favorite designs. Also Ovelia and Mustadio.
I just like the beeg feet and hands. Characters feel so much more solid that way. Must be why I like xa-xa-xa's artwork so much too. (Dofus, Wakfu)

Oh yeah, tactics' designs were fucking bomb. I loved the art for 9 though, someone bought me the artbook and that's what ended up making me buy the game! It's designs are so fresh, but I think if you liked the art for Tactics you'd like the art for 9. Here's some examples: [link] [link] [link]

I remember Legend of Mana catching my eye the same way so I bought it way back. Unfortunate that the game didn't turn out so hot. The designs are a bit more soft, and kid-oriented. [link] Wish I knew 9 was so awesome aesthetically. Makes me wonder now why they didn't go with more 2D painted games and went for dress-up uguu 10, when they've made such hits worldwide.

I know you can buy 9 on the Slaystation Store for the PSP and Vita I think? That Legend of Mana picture reminds me of a jrpg I started playing recently that I really wanted to play when I was younger called Rhapsody. It's really easy and short, almost all the characters are girls, and it reminds me a lot of 90's anime hahaha [link]
