Book 4, Chapter 13, Mad-Eye Moody.Done for the HP Art Project: [link]
I got my tablet driver working and tried to finish this up today. There might be some few finishing touches I'm going to add, but the majority is done. It took a lot longer than it looks! Everything in the background was done by me, I didn't use any special brushes. Crits and suggestions are still welcome!

So since so many of you asked when I posted the WIP, I'll tell you who all the characters are.
First we have Harry, and then Ron. Behind them in some random 5th yr. Slytherin girl, and I decided to make the girl next to her Cho Chang. Then we have ferret!Draco, Moody, and McGonagall. Above them is Cedric, I guess, and a 4th year Hufflepuff.
The two students in the back were made to look like Lily and James, yes. They aren't supposed to be the focus of the picture, I didn't even want them to be that noticeable. I just wanted to show that even though they died, they were still always there for Harry, particularly in this book. I purposefully put them behind Luna, who reminds Harry that the ones we love never really leave us. What I wanted to get across to JKR was how much that meant to me. And I don't know if she'll notice, but I'm comforted in knowing that it's there. Anyway, the last two guys are Crabbe and Goyle.
So I hope you guys like it... I've been staring at it too long to tell if it's bad or not. I'd love to hear your comments!

This is brilliant! Ron looks good (it was harder to tell from the WIP, uk?). My only confusion was with Crabbe and Goyle's faces... are they just too stupid to know what's going on, or they don't care, or what? I might've made them more dumbfounded/astonished, but it's your call.

Thank you! I actually wound up redrawing Ron's hand completely. Crabbe is supposed to . be smirking a bit, where Goyle's just supposed to look totally blank, cuz Malfoy isn't giving him any direction. I might try to make him look a little more confused, haha.

I also just noticed... why is there a strip of brown-ish grass in the background?

Really really cice work. Since you are still taking suggestions I think you could add shadows and work on Mcgonalls right hand and arm. Again hope you donΒ΄t mind me.

Thanks! I'm not sure about the shadows though, because I don't have them anywhere else in the picture. I'll think about it though

Decide where your light comes from, then if it fits add a separate layer where you can play around with the shadows. I would add them around Luna the trees and a bit to the side of the characters. They add dimension to the paintings and well this is totally up to you!
