Rock musician Eric Draven is brutally murdered by being thrown from a window of his apartment and his girlfriend, Shelly Webster, who after being raped by several men, is taken to hospital a few hours later dies too. The double murder was perpetrated by a led in its fullness by Top Dollar band, which ravaged the bowels of the city. The murder occurs on a night called Devil's Night (night before Halloween). A year later, Eric revives with the help of a crow that returns him to life; returns to the city where he was executed for the sole purpose of revenge. Eric gets immortality, superhuman strength, supernatural vision (by touching a person can feel what it feels) and protection of the raven, his spiritual guide that links the world of the living to the realm of the dead. So, it will not stop until he avenged the damage done by him and his girlfriend, something that will get when finally submit the crime lord and his followers.
