This month, I've participated in another DTIYS challenge! I missed the deadline for my previous DTIYS entry by 2 days, but at least I've been able to get this one done in time. This one is from candykiki , featuring a deer girl who is very in touch with mother nature, so to speak.

I've drawn several girls who have specific animals for friends, but they all seem like suburban (one or two might be urban) people, wearing clothes and doing things like you or I. In contrast, this girl has an indigenous, ephemeral look. I'm sure you can find antlers on a novelty headband, but her antlers might have grown out of her head. And what's with the long wooden poles hanging down from her hair with 3 brushes of hair on the ends of them?

The inspiration for my involvement in this DTIYS may have been the day I went to Nara, Japan. That was the closest I had ever gotten to deer, I even pet one briefly as I went past him (he had sawed-off antlers, so he was a buck)!
