Oh boy...I bet you didn't expect my comeback art to be this. Don't worry. I have another fan art in the making.
It'll be released on the 15th of this month.
Now for the topic of this fan art. If you've been following me on Tumblr, you know that I'm heavily into Steven Universe.
I have several ships that I like, and I've even drew some of them in the past. This one in particular is currently considered
a crack ship, but it has a lot of potential to become a real thing. Why?
Well, these two have a lot of things in common:
1. They were loyal Homeworld gems
2. They fought in the war
3. They were part of Pink Diamond's court
4. Both cared very much about their Diamond
5. Both got corrupted
6. Doesn't value themselves (moreso on Jasper, but Nephrite pretty much blamed herself for getting caught in the blast)
I really like the idea of these two hanging out and sorting all their problems.

this is the only Jasper ship that works, really. and the first time i've seen Nephrite in a ship at all.

Your comment reminded me of another thing they got in common.
They tend to pop up in a few episodes, only to disappear for a long
time until they become relevant again in the next plot.
I feel like Jasper will only be romantically interested in a gem that's
either affiliated with Homeworld or affiliated with no one.
I don't see her with gems like Pearl, Peridot or any other Crystal gem.
Despite having a huge impact in the corruption arc, we don't know enough
about Nephrite and her relationship with other gems to really do much with her
as a fandom. I hope she and Jasper returns soon.

Compared to what's popular, Jasper doesn't have a lot of healthy and compatible partners to ship with.
They're either terrible for her (Lapis Lazuli) or they're someone Jasper would have zero interest in because
of their affiliation and/or personality (Peridot and Pearl).

She deserves a lot of love. A strong sisterhood with Amethyst, a family reunion with the other Betas, and a sweet
captain who can relate to her struggles.

I've been doing quite well. Not posted too much in your abscense, but i'm making some very exciting progress in my life (won't go into detail for personal reasons). On the topic of Steven Universe, i actually have gotten to watching it for myself. I can't say i'm as big a fan of the show as you are, but i have seen every episode so far (including the Uncle Grandpa crossover, which gave me Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog flashbacks with how nuts it was) and overall enjoyed the show as a whole. I don't really remember all the names, but Nephrite was the centipeedle from the very first episode (pre corruption off course) right?Β
