Description Hai there
I know it seems like i hav loads already, but these are the common bugs of the region - like caterpie, weedle, wurmple etc.
However, thers.... A TWIST!
They are based on Flannel Moths, and The Jewel Wasp, who lays its eggs in caterpillars and cocoons.
* Just to be clear: Jewwasp is an oddity of the Pokemon world, like manaphy, its evo chain is wacked up. Jewwasp is a single stage Pokemon. Breeding one will only get you another Jewwasp. It Lays its eggs in Catercoon. The egg hatches out into a Jewwasp inside and it eats the occupier and takes over the cocoon until it emerges, fully grown at lvl 10 *

--------------------

Basic Stage: Caterpus - The Worm Pokemon
Type: Bug/Poison
Ability: Shield Dust
Name Meaning: Caterpillar - Pus Moth
[Evolves at lvl 7]

It is covered in a powder coated fur which is poisonous. It can sense predators with its antennas and quickly scuttle to safety.

--------------------

First Stage: Catercoon - The Cocoon Pokemon
Type: Bug/Poison
Ability: Shed Skin
Name Meaning: Caterpillar - Cocoon
[Evolves at lvl 10]

They lay Dormant under dead leaves on the forest floor waiting to evolve. The antenna on their tail senses for any changes around them.

--------------------

Second Stage: Flannoth - The Ground Moth Pokemon
Type: Bug/Poison
Ability: Shield Dust
Name Meaning: Flannel-Moth

Their heavy bodies mean they cannot fly very well, instead they scuttle about on the forest floor, using their wings for escape or display. They shake their bodies violently to release a poison powder when threatened.

--------------------

Second Stage (Alt): Jewwasp - The Needle Wasp Pokemon
Type: Bug/Poison
Ability: Poison Point
Name Meaning: Jewel-Wasp
[Evolves from Catercoon With Red Spot instead of Blue]

They Lay their eggs into Catercoon, when the young hatch, they eat the host inside. The Huge needle on their tails is used for drilling the eggs in, and for attacking predators.

Very well done. I'd assume that during the game the player character would never learn the true reason behind this split evolution due to the horror of the process

I don't think so, especially with some of the stuff in the 5th generation!

i mean being k.o edis one thing, but eaten alive from inside out? plus the whole "lay eggs" thing, gamefreak have tried to keep it uncertain where eggs come from havent they? add this, game becomes a 12..... (still pretty awsome though"

Flannel moths and a jewel wasp...Very clever. The patters are great, and the way it looks through it's life cycle is great. If these were official, I would have a Jewwasp on my team all the time.

Awesome work.

I love the designs of these four--great details. I have one a little like these guys, too, but mine's based off a tarantuals wasp. A little macabre, but I think Pokemon cannon could improve with some nasty Pokemon like these 'uns.

I just think they're fun. And, in a way, I feel like they're more realistic. The real wolrd is not always a happy, friendly G-rated kinda place. And no problemo.

JoshKH92 In reply to TwistedAlyx [2010-07-10 11:54:22 +0000 UTC]

Exactly, It also annoys me how they felt the need to give every standalone Pokemon some a crappy evolution in gen 4. Not all pokemon are meant to evolve and be strong in battle!

TwistedAlyx In reply to JoshKH92 [2010-07-10 13:27:52 +0000 UTC]

YES! Or a baby form. Why does everything need a baby form? Who on earth is gonna fight with Mantyke instead of Mantine? And how is Probopass an improvement at all on Nosepass?? I'll admit I like the new Magnetone evo--it's less ugly, IMO, thought pretty much anything would've been--and I like the evos for Magmar and Electabuzz... But I also liked them just fine the way they were.

It's cuz they wanna keep the franchise going and keep making money. They need a good number of new ones each time, and it's easier to renovate old ones than to make up completely new ones.

JoshKH92 In reply to TwistedAlyx [2010-07-10 13:56:03 +0000 UTC]

Its kinda dissapointing really. Some of my favourite pokemon were spoilt for me when they got a pointless baby form (such as Mantine and Sudowoodo, which was one of my favourite pokemon) or ones that got an awful evolution (Nosepass, and Sneasel, which was also one of my favourite pokemon) I rarely use them anymore, and its sad. I hope they don't ruin Farfetch'd for me. Its one of my all time favs

I'm afraid for Girafarig. I will be really sad if they mess with that one.

avalon10210 [2010-04-22 13:45:13 +0000 UTC]

Question, how would the event of a red dot occur? Would you have to have a Jewwasp in your party, or would it be a random event like a shiny....but of course much less rare? xD

And would your chances of a red dot increase if you had a Jewwasp in your party? = n= These are questions I pose = n=
*just got an image of a trainer turning around to see his Jewwasp mutilating his newly evolved Catercoon* ....not such a good idea for the anime xD

JoshKH92 In reply to avalon10210 [2010-04-22 16:30:22 +0000 UTC]

Haha well you catch Catercoon in the wild, some have a red dot, some have the blue dot, the blue dot is considerably rarer than the red dot, but still reasonably obtainable

I am in LOVE with Jewwasp. <3

What's more, props to you for making a landmoth. It's one of the most difficult bugs to turn into a poke'mon, and you pulled it off nicely.

*fave for me* The colors you used were great, and really helped bring out the themes in each poke'mon. But yeah, Jewwasp is still mah fave. xD

95 % of all animals is bugs, so it's hard not to find a bug to turn into a fakemon.
