So with all this mystery around the third playable character in the upcoming game sonic forces I've seen three predictions for who it is mainly the one's who are sonic in some way dreamcast sonic, boom sonic, and my favorite idea future sonic. Since the game will likely involve time travel with the presence of classic sonic combined with the more apocalyptic feel and the fact that eggman has took over the world, that got me thinking how would eggman take over the and how would this plot play out then I heard the theory that the third playable character might be a future sonic. That immediately got me thinking about what the plot could be. Eggman has teamed up with his future self who has successfully took over the world and is aiding his younger selves in their plots, so the sonics and their friends seek the future sonic for help only to find out that he has given up after a tragedy that led to eggman taking over the world and has completely lost his spirit and is now stern and grouchy and not very fond of his younger self and it's up to the young sonics and their friends to help the future sonic to come out of retirement and help get his spirit back.

I based his design a bit off of the war doctor from doctor who. boom sonic since the sonic animator Rogier Van Weide has compared boom sonic to a grumpy grandpa and it sort of brings the boom universe into it. and now that I look at it this kinda looks like Ford Pines from Gravity Falls?

I imagine this guy's gameplay being like sonic adventure style gameplay since that would make the most sense in opinion since modern sonic has the boost and classic sonic has the genesis style and out of all the other styles of game play adventure makes sense.
