i know this is an old piece but you did ask about the background and i think it'd be interesting if something's drawn in white as a contrast to the blue and black. perhaps something sketchy and pen like that relates to her expression and drawn on the top right corner.

I saw that deadlysinwrath made a bad comment, so I gather my courage to write my own oppinion - to no offense to anyone! First of all, I too don't like her eye (because you can see only the left eye) but that's because I don't like the shape of her eye! 
And yes, all this comment is not done to offent anyone, and I'm really sorry if I do!

her skirt is almost like a petticoat. i like it. the expression is good. i think the background is good, since she's wearing a lot of black. the lighter blue around her helps brighten the mood along with her happier expreassion. it's good.

sorry i havnt been commenting. i have been on a long absences due to a friend's recent death. i like this model every time she is in a photo it always turns out well. this photo isnt one of my favs. she seems a little to wide eyed for the look it appears you are aiming. a suprised kind of sexy look right? well the clothes suggest the sexy part and the hands over her mouth suggest the suprise. but the eyes make her look so......bad i guess is the wrd. over all a good pic but you dropped the ball on the facial expression this time dude. i give this pic a 6.5/10

i think the pose is awesome.
my eyes travel from her head, down the line of her arms and to her boot, then i'm drawn back up her leg to the skirt, where my focus lingers.
its a great pose if your focusing on the clothing.
lighting seems a little dull.. maybe just a touch more light on her front middle, i'm not sure.
otherwise terrific.
