At first, you think wow that guy is definitely a villain, but as you start to see his machinations unfold, you realize he just might be a hero. I think what really sold me was how he interacts with folks. He is always direct, but doesn't answer people's questions. It reminds me of a quote from Terry Pratchett about heroes. Villains would love to tell you about their plans, they would talk your ear off. On the other hand, a true hero doesn't bother impressing you with his exploits or even offer you a witty line. A hero just walks up to you, stabs his sword in your gut, and gets on with his day.

Great show!However I read that it's not doing well in the ratings. I would hate to see it get axed because (1) I'm thoroughly enjoying it and (2) I hear that Tom Hardy put up his own money to finance it and would hate for him to take that kind of hit.

I just wanted to say this a fantastic piece Jack, it captures his rather frightening initial entrance perfectly. I had never heard of the series before you mentioned it, now I am three episodes in and there is no way I will miss the rest. Thanks for the recommendation there! All the best

I find this show "Taboo" and Mr. Delaney very fascinating to watch.
Yet, as for "Delaney" himself, in my experience in meeting many different people through out my travels in this world. This is one S.O.B. I would not want to cross paths in the wrong way.

You know someone just said something about "Count of Monte Cristo". Now that I think about it. It might just be that. Although I have never seen "Count of Monte Cristo I get the plot of it. But so far I have been VERY interested in what happens next. So far Sir Delaney has got the heads of the EIC all running around like chickens. That fat pig who does not give a F*** has no clue. And the agents of America might have an edge against him. While I am on board with the whole HBO freedom they have with the swearing on public access television oh and the EXTREME content and subject matter. I do however draw the line on INCEST. Just.......juuuuusssst . How does one get away with THAT on a channel that is not Stars, Cinimax, or HBO?
