I started this series a month ago, and must admit Cpt. Jackson is my favorite character. Ex-soldier, medic, alcoholic and always lazy, if a job needs to be done
Really nice work!

Thank you.

I enjoyed the series a lot and was sorry to see it come to an end.
The characters are all great, Cpt Jackson is very good but I think I like the reporter best.

No problem at all!

Hm me too. But if I'm correct there will be two more seasons. Correct me please if I'm wrong.
Yeah reporter Best was also a great character, in the first season he was maybe annoying a bit, but in the future his character also developed.

I think there are only three seasons. I saw the end of season three a couple of weeks ago and it looked quite final to me.
Which season are you on in Hungary ?

It's true, there are only three seasons out. But my housemate (he is the TV Series Expert in the house) said there will be two more (also I checked out IMDb and on the site I saw there are two more seasons under production.) One in 2016 and another one in 2017.
Also here in Hungary three seasons are out, just like anywhere else. I'm on the Fourth Episode of the Third Season. I don't know what will be the end yet... but the infos say there will be two more seasons.

You've captured his toughness superbly! The look on his face is fantastic. The red blood splatter is a marvelous touch too.

This is superb artwork. Did you know Damien Molony is joining the cast in series 2? It is a huge ask, because your work must take a lot of time and dedication, but would love to see your version of him based on the 1 cast photo we have seen, and promote your work on our site!

Thanks very much for your comment.

I'm afraid that I dont know who Damien Molony is. Its quite possible that I will make an illustration of him, but rather than work from one photograph I would rather wait to see him in the series when it is screened.

Ripper Street Series 2 premieres 1 December in the US, we think Autumn in the UK (hinted by Tiger Aspect). If you do decide to illustrate his character I am sure it will be well worth the wait. Tipping my hat to your work

Thanks Kevin, I didn't know that you got Ripper St in the states!
I had some misgivings about drawing stuff from the TV but then decided that I was maybe just being an art snob. Anyway Victoriana has always turned me on, so there we are.

I really appreciated your comment.

Oh if it has any level of violence it seems like it makes it's way to the US! Actually, it airs on BBC America so we get shows that run on that channel... And yes, I too have a passion for all things Victorian. The pieces you are doing based on this series are wonderful- I'm glad you got past any potential art-snobbery to do so!

"Oh if it has any level of violence it seems like it makes it's way to the US"

Made me laugh, but I must say the US does look a worrying place from the outside. Kids shooting up their schools appears to be becoming a regular occurrence, it could be argued that reality is imitating art but it doesn't happen so much elsewhere.

Leaving such things aside I'm surprised and for some reason pleased to think that there is such a thing as BBC America.

Yes...it makes me very sad and very angry with my fellow countrymen and their love affair with violence and guns in general- the arguments here for continuing to allow everyone to be so readily, heavily and easily armed is ludicrous at best and terrifying otherwise. They have lost their way...

I agree as far as your reaction about BBC America- I've always found my way to a quite a lot of British programming since I was a very young child- old school Dr Who and Monty Python (of course) being among the earliest treats I was exposed to- so this really made me happy when it became a thing... The only thing I truly do NOT like is the amount of air-time allotted to that cooking show and the one about cars...

JohnPatience In reply to Boggleboy [2013-02-28 07:16:43 +0000 UTC]

Yes the one about cars is something to be avoided at all costs, the presenter represents all things embarrassing and retrogressive about male culture.Actualy I think he's an intelligent guy who makes a living out of pandering to idiots.

Some folks attitude to arms is mind bogglingly daft I heard the the pro-arms people say that the answer to kids going into schools with guns if for every school to have armed guards! People with minds so messed up are beyond reason.

I wonder if he's in on the joke, but when I saw him interviewed on Graham Norton's show, I think maybe not so much...

Yes, that is EXACTLY what they have proposed and even saying something ludicrous out loud to themselves and everyone else didn't sound to their own ears as asinine as it actually is... They make me ashamed.

I don't know how self aware he is, I suppose a glance at his bank account would dispel any troubling introspection.
