Now that I've seen what the animation style for the new series is like, I can safely say that I don't like it. The character all move as if they've drank 10 cups of coffee!

They do don't they, It's very fast.....and classic Kids show snappy. I don't know it doesn't really fit the traditional story telling style. But I want to see how they'll tell bible stories, I mean ...if they even do.

From what I've read, the format for the new series is that each episode is 22 minutes with two 11 minute stories (like in most animated shows these days) with one original song in each. There is also the possibility that the animation in the series itself isn't as hyper as it is in the intro.
The people involved from what I've looked up haven't had any real experience with VeggieTales before (one of the writers is the creator of MST3K for example). But, Big Idea is heavily involved with the development process by giving them notes on what's OK and what's not.

I loved this reference! and i'm in love with this episode. it's my top fav so far this year. The songs are really fun...while Kurt didn't do the songs it was still very enjoyable.

Agreed, my favorite one was "How It Used to Be". The guy they got to do the music here has produced music for several big movies and musical groups. Most likely influence from DreamWorks since they get some credits.
I believe that this will likely be the best show of the year because while "Beauty and the Beet" sounds interesting, I don't think it'll top this one.

Can't wait for beauty and the beet. Kellie pickler is a FUNNY person.some of her interviews will have you on the floor. and she's a great singer too. i know it'll be a memorable one.
But Celery is one of the best episodes i've seen in a while.Β

I saw two quick videos that were recorded of her at the VeggieTales Media Day event where she talked about how her nieces and nephews considered her a real star after voicing in a VeggieTales show. My aunt loves both "Beauty and the Beast" and Kellie Pickler so imagine her surprise when I told her that both would be used in an upcoming VeggieTales show, the show along with a drawing I'll be doing of Mirabelle will be her Christmas presents this year.
I'm looking forward to it and will likely appreciate it for the fact that it's probably one of the last (if not the last) shows to have the characters in their original forms before the Netflix series takes off during the week of Thanksgiving. So far my favorite one of the year. Definitely refreshing after what's been revealed in the past few days.
I noticed a lot of callbacks which was good that they show that they do remember their early stuff.

-Junior's sketchpad shows him using an anti-gravity spray on Bruce Onion which makes him fly away just like the monster in his fantasy in "Bully Trouble".
-The photo album Laura's looking through has an image of Mr. Sly.
-Almost all the songs Lanny performed in his solo career is the entire catalog of veggie songs (mostly Silly Songs).
