Description More, hooray.

I did it at the library about a month ago, and it took half an hour.
The pen kept crapping out on me >.<
The edges are all crinkly.

the only reason the legs are weird is because the photo you refferenced was a very bad photo goo job on shading tho

Aww don't be so hard on yourself, you do some pretty nifty things too! Besides, I'm a human copy machine - you can actually draw from your head, and that's a great talent to have.

Thanks! It was really fun to draw, and I'm a fan of sketchiness myself (moreso than completed clean lines, actually)

Thank you so much, Rabbit this is still my favorite thing that I've drawn, even though I messed up and could do it a lot better if I tried again.

This is wonderful.<3

My only crit is the right bottom leg. The hoof is too...Short and sharp. :3

jogerm In reply to AnjiruOokami [2008-04-09 04:06:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

Yes, the photo I used as a reference had no hoof there - it was hiding in grass. I forgot to add grass, so now there is just a random bit of angular ink holding the horse up in mid-air. >.>
I should remember to use creative license or something next time I come across such an illogical occurrance.

Wonderful drawing! Your skill with cross-hatching is phenominal. The shading is all where it should be and the detail included is quite high.

ElbyLeeShay [2007-11-23 23:20:09 +0000 UTC]

This looks great, the detail is wonderful and there is a lot of depth...I thought I had seen this somewhere and then it hit, I have this horse book called '96 horse breeds of america' and that picture is in it and I thought "wow, she did a fantastic job," and you did.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jogerm In reply to ElbyLeeShay [2007-12-28 23:38:03 +0000 UTC]

thank you so much!

and thanks for letting me know about the book! I couldn't remember and feel bad about not giving the photographer credit for the reference.

You're welcome.

You're also welcome!!!! I skimmed through and saw it and it just clicked... funny how that works.

jogerm In reply to ElbyLeeShay [2007-12-29 05:33:07 +0000 UTC]

hehe yup - I must have picked it up from the "horse" section at the library and not paid attention to the title or anything. I think the rider had a pink jacket? and the horse was definitely black or very very dark brown...ah well.

ElbyLeeShay In reply to jogerm [2007-12-29 16:25:24 +0000 UTC]

Yup yup. You got the detail right.

Half an hour? I'm impressed.

I'd give you some advanced critique but I'm lost on horses' anatomy. Only thing I can see, is you amputated the backmost hoof?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jogerm In reply to Cado [2007-12-28 23:39:48 +0000 UTC]

ah, the hoof. I think it was in grass in the photo and I forgot to draw grass, or anything else for that matter.
thank you though! any feedback is good

Cado In reply to jogerm [2007-12-29 22:16:29 +0000 UTC]

Ah, so that's why! Good to hear the horse didn't suffer.

Simanion [2007-09-15 13:20:48 +0000 UTC]

The head of the horse is really good, and the rest is great too - the shading especially, it's hard to get it that seamless by crosshatching. Nice work

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jogerm In reply to Simanion [2007-12-28 23:43:41 +0000 UTC]

thank you
I'm pretty sure I spent less time on the head than anything else, even the tail...and I must say, I hate its tail.
as said in the description, the pen kept crapping out...and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason the shading actually looks like shading.
but I'm glad it looks okay! hopefully I won't disappoint in future efforts

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Simanion In reply to jogerm [2007-12-29 05:07:29 +0000 UTC]

You didnt disappoint! Believe me, if I tried to draw a horse you would laugh and then give me money and say "I'm so...so sorry".

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jogerm In reply to Simanion [2007-12-29 05:30:59 +0000 UTC]

lol I'm sure it wouldn't be that bad
but perhaps I'll get to drawing while I'm here on vacation and put more pretty horses up here for you
