Description For the current Challenge at Spinners--End ~ spinners--end.deviantart.com/b… ~ illustrate Snape in the manner of a favorite writer or visual artist.
One of the qualities of Modigliani's art is its deceptive simplicity: 'adopting' the style of this master was a humbling and rewarding experience.
Featured here - thank you! Devious Journal EntrySnape's Birthday
Today is Severus Snape's 53rd birthday, or at least it would have been if JK Rowling hadn't seen it fit to kill him off. But Severus is harder to kill than she might have foreseen, and so he lives on (happily? - I'll leave that to your imagination) in our hearts and minds, fanfics and pictures...
As I haven't produced anything yet that I'm happy enough with to upload here, I thought I'd do a feature of some of my favourites as a contribution. There were far too many to put them all here, so I decided to show only art that gets less attention.
The credit for this idea goes to :iconcabepfir:, who did it in 2009 http://fav.me/d3jipuq - I hope you don't mind I stole it! Snape, of course, is (c) JK Rowling.
So, without further ado - enjoy!

I didn't realize, but I just fixed that.  I started a few other groups recently too.  Would you like to help administrate this group: post-expressionism.deviantart.… ? Your art certainly fits the style.  You could just add as much as you wish with automatic approval.

Oh this is wonderful and inspiring... I knew the moment I saw the thumbnail it was Amadeo Modigliani`s style. I am sure it was not simple, I simply love it... I want to tilt Snape`s head!!! I read Modigliani`s bio a while ago and of course enjoy his work very much, it`s different, sad and deep... It suits Snape and the eyes... the eyes my friend... so empty and dark!!! Inspiring!!! Thank you for sharing!!! My hat off to you!!!

Thanks, that means a lot . . . it became easy once I stopped correcting 'mistakes' and went with where he took me Modi had quite a (short) interesting life, no? And his poor girlfriend . . . and baby
