on Tuesday, June 17th, 2010. I went to a local park close to where I lived with my large black drawing book. And did my best to create a ruff sketch of everything I saw at the park while sitting at a metal bench.I worked on the playground, the trees, the trashcans, the metal fence in the far distance, a memorial plaque on the ground, and even the individual strands of grass and tree leafs.
Let me tell you people, making drawings out in the open is not the same as drawing inside a building.

Its neat to get yourself lost in nature Joe and its great you went to a park to sit down and draw some art. Have to say though you captured quite alot on your picture here and not too shabby either were you on sparing anything that would help fill out your blank piece of paper.
Very neat to see the way the trees have the foreground and background placement as well as the winding of the walking path that leads up the to the memorial of sorts in the bottom of the picture. Must have been a bit of a pain in the ass drawing that damn playground in the back there but just as well very nice variation of your pencil work and shading to keep elements looking too familiar with one another.
Great to see you pulled this from your collection and thought to include it on the DA there Joe, well done. For whatever the silly reason it reminds me of a park I once saw in Japan. ^o^
