Do any of you guys know that the correct translation form the Japanese dialogue (the priginal dialogue) actually says "It's over 8000!", not "It's over 9000!"? I was surprised myself to learn this fact.

Yeah, there are a few joke strips out there that make fun of the mistranslation. It's pretty entertaining.
Somehow, though, OVER 8000 just isn't as satisfying as OVER 9000!!!
