Thank you. I thought the red background provided a nice connection between the colour of the plant's petals and the agony/ecstacy of heroin addiction. Of course I'm only guessing on the latter.

Thank you. The background is just a sheet of red construction paper. I picked up a variety of colours from an art supply store - very inexpensive.

Thanks - I chose it because it closely resembles the colour of the poppy flower, and because it seems to add drama to the whole heroin/addiction theme.
