Here is a sneak peak of my Gaara Cosplay for Anime Evolution 2007!I had to design the shoes from scratch so I made a design for the top part and then sewed it together and attached it to a pair of sandal shoes that I got from the Thrift store (bottom middle picture). I used a black stretch corduroy fabric; I used the other side because I liked that texture for it better. The cuffs were stuffed with batting to make them look thicker. I tried to stick as close as I could to the original design of the shoe but had to add a velcro opening at the top to get my foot in. To attach the top to the bottom I used fabric glue and special nails that I got from a shoe repair store (bottom left picture).
I still have so much to do for my costume (especially since I am doing half transformed Gaara!) and not a lot of time to do it in! Well hope to see lots of you there at Anime Evolution! And if you have any questions on the making of the shoes I'd be happy to answer them!

I'm working on a Anbu Kakashi SnJ cosplay :3, and I'm planning to do those shoes, because I don't like the ones that sell on e-bay or other sites T3T.
The problem is that I don't know how to attach them to the sandal shoe T3T. You said that you used a fabric glue and special nails, but the nails don't bother you when you get you foot on the shoe?

Thanks! No the nails don't bother me when i put my foot in. They're very very small and go into the shoe.

Umm sorry I don't know the name for them. You could always look on ebay for Naruto Ninja shoes... I'm pretty sure they sell them there.

What kind of bandages did you use for your legs :3? I'm going as Sasuke this year and I need some bandages that are gonna stay in place/not leave that nasty sticky residue like some medical bandaging leaves x___x!?

I just used regular bandages (they're non-sticky) and then wrapped them around a leg band and then sewed them down so I don't have to wrap them everytime.

Hey. :3 I'm making Time Skip Sasuke's sandals for someone. Their design are diffrent from the other sandals I did for my siblings Temari and gaara costume. I pretty much have an idea how to make them but the only question I have is, "What kind of special nails did you buy for the sandals?" and " Did you nail the fabric from the inside?" Just want to make sure. :3 Hope you can help me out.

I'm not sure what the special nails were called but I got them from a shoe repair shop... the nails curve up inside when you hammer them down so that it is more secure. And yes I did nail the fabric down from the inside! Hope that helps and good luck!

my mom made me shoes cas i can sow sew whatever by im begging my dad to let me go to the convention in fort wayne it cost 30 bucks to reserve ya im only 11 and im a huge NARTARD! WOO anways um ya in IN i wish one of you guys wound come but you guys live in canda but when i get older and have a jod ill go to canda and meet you maybe somewere or at a convention the convention im going to is july 18-20

I have to do this soon for my Sasori cosplay, the shoes online are either waay to expensive or don't fit right!

If you're ever bored or not busy, you should totally make a tutorial for your Naruto shoe design!
Your design is the best I've ever seen, and I'm sure there are a gazillion hungry fans who are eager to know how you made them so they can try it themselves!
