Whew, another one finished! At first I didn't really like Maria, but now she's probably my second favorite. She was so god damn badass in AXZ (that Horizon Cannon...) and her songs were really really good. I think this one turned out the best so far but I think it's time to take some sort of coloring course after I complete all these beauties.Oh, I almost forgot... SYYYYYYMPHOOOOOOGEEEEEAAAARR!!!

This is pretty good for what it is. You've got the look of the character down, and the image itself looks like it could actually be presented as an actual image for the series, and not just fan art. Naturally, it isn't perfectly copying the original style, but it itself is good and looks decent enough to compliment the series. Having never really watched the series, I simply assumed that this was an exact copy of the actual artwork. Seeing that it isn't, this is a goo piece on itself.Β
There are a few things to nitpick here and there, such as the hands looking a little flat, or the body looking a bit like a jellybean. However, I can't really give anything to truly correct these, as it seems like it's just something that you could fix as you progress with your art style.
While it does look like it would work of as an actual picture for a series, I think your work could use a bit of extra shade and lighting. It's not necessary and is basically just my own opinion, but adding those could give a bit more dimension to the picture, and also help out of if you're hoping to develop something more stylized.

Seems like a lot of peeps think I should get more serious with the coloring and shading so that's quite fair. Time to go learn me some new stuff.

My first impression of your piece is that it's a really solid fanart with your connection to her easily recognizable by the amount of accurate focus to the original details. (I am comparing to google images though as I didn't know this series before^^)
The battle ready-pose fits her expression quite nicely which is a big plus point in my book - I prefer it when the whole piece fits together.
Her proportions are good, too, well done! I like how she doesn't have a barbie-esque figure but you actually see her tummy a bit out (that may be subjective though, as the source material seems to be fairly thin). The small of her back may be a bit too much pushed forward.Β
As far as I can see it with the google material you painstakingly took care of getting her costume right, kudos to that!
Even zoomed in your outlines a clear and smooth, an important point in that kind of line-based style!^^
My only critique apart from her over-arched back would be about the colors. The whole image is nice, but what would really propel you a step forward would be if you had a color popp out more. In the images I found of her, Maria's crystal is a more saturated red to balance out the other pastel colors!
Also, her eyes would be more accentuated if you used a darker tone for her lashes - in nearly every piece I've found of her she has a sharp and determined gaze, whereas your Maria seems a bit more meek and thus fairly younger than the source material.
The simple background is totally fine for a character highlight, nothing wrong with that. And you could make your signature a bit bigger - you created a fine piece of art, be proud of it!

The characters in this show have a lot of detail, so I did spend a while getting her outfit correct. Although I still get confused because every season it changes and my references are all jumbled lol. Anyways, I totally agree with you on my coloring and I have kind of felt that I need to level up in this area. I am glad you mentioned it and I will definitely work on it going forward. The face part is fair critique too. I never really thought about it that deeply but I see how this can help me make the piece more like the character so to speak.

Yeah, totally. As crazy and nonsensical as the story is, they did a really good job with building and focusing on the characters. I love how the song lyrics reflect their arcs and growth too.
