As part of our deal, I am to crochet one princess a month from a book my cousin so "graciously" gave me for Christmas: Disney Princess Crochet by Jessica Ward. Patterns by Jana Whitley. My daughter picked which princess is to be done on which month and the due date is whatever holiday happens to be that month (we're using my birthday for August).

So, didn't quite make the "Holiday" deadline...I mean, come on! Easter was the first day of the month! So, she gets her...today! (Whenever she wakes up from her nap!)

I find that each princess seems to have one thing different from the next and often wonder if I had actually crocheted them in the order of the patterns in the book, maybe I would be gaining a new skill slowly, one month at a time. But NOOOOOOOO, El picked which princess she wanted for which month and now it's all over the place!

As El says, this is a challenge and I HAVE been learning from it. Pocahontas is the first and one of only two princesses that has feet. If the arms on each princess didn't look funky already, well, I definitely fair no better in the feet department! Also, because of the feet this one actually has a "butt"! To make the tunic you have to do the whole body and then go back to do the skirt of the tunic, so, TADA! Buttage!

Four down, eight to go! Next month is Rapunzel - for the most part she looks easy, basic structure are things I've done 3-4 times now. The only thing that looks intimidating are the details. Sigh....after another dragon or two. I have until Mother's day...yeah. I can get her in by then!
