Description My second attempt at painting an image. I think it turned out alright, though I hate the ear, and doing the hair was a real pain >__
Skin tones are definately better in this one than my first one, same with the hair.

Anyhoo, this is Oracle, one of my older characters who doesn't get enough love from me She's supposed to be the prettiest, so I figured I'd paint her, rather than one of the others. She's very self confident and sexual, loves men, and considers women other than herself to be inferior. I figure she's looking at a woman in this picture XD

I used this stock image: [link] from *UrielStock for the pose reference, and this wonderful tute: [link] from =mree for instructions on how to do the hair.

Please be kind, I'm still learning this type of thing >__<

Total time was about 12 hours (surprisingly).

Sketched and inked by hand, scanned and coloured in Photoshop 7 using a Wacom graphics tablet, and a mouse, oddly enough.

Art and character design is copywrite to me (Jigokuko), unauthorised re-use without my express written consent is prohibited.

Actually, it was only about 12 hours to do this one, which surprised me. I would have thought it'd take me at least 20.

You're kidding, right? It's bloody gorgeous!! Her face is so pretty, and those lips are so luscious! I love the shape of her mouth

The colours are lovely and vibrant, and the hair is amazing! So detailed and realistic

I'm glad you think she's pretty. I asked my brother if she was hot, and he just stared at me like I was a freak, before saying: "She's just a cartoon". I wasn't very happy with him after that

I meant to say this before, but I love your avatar! She jiggles her boobs, and it's so cute! XD

Well - I think she is excptionally hot! It's very well drawn. I tend to not delete my favourite pics from my DevWatch page - that way I see them every now and again This one is definately a keeper

The thing that bugs me about the ear is that it's not very realistic, but I've found a tute here on dA how to do them properly, so I'll use that when I'm doing my next one

I knew someone was going to see that! XD

It was actually just a random shape that I drew out when I decided the gemstone needed a bit more colour variation, it just happened to be the shape of an 'm', but just pretend it's something meaningful, like she's a Scorpio (since the symbol looks like an 'm' with a devil tail on it)

This is a really nice drawing. You kept the colors simple, which really excentuates the great form that you have here.

The shading is subtle, which is nice for a drawing like this. And everything is very sharp and well defined.

And the hair is awesome!

I figured that the hair was bright enough, so I made the background as unobtrusive as possible

I really hated doing that hair though XD It was a royal pain till I got the hang of it, of course, that was after I'd already spent 2 hours trying a couple of other methods

Definitely.

I'll often not even shade the hair. I get lazy. I figure I can explain my lack of hair-detail as a stylistic decision. xD ie, An excuse for being lazy.
