I absolutely love that you shot this on film! It adds so much to the atmosphere, and it turns a simple shot into something incredibly stunning! Whoever said that medium doesn't matter is wrong, because it does, and you've proven that here! The depth of field is so wonderful, it forces me to focus on that wonderful face.

This a simple but quite stunning photograph! The graininess of the film, the sharpness of the fur, and the shallow depth of field creates such a textural visual experience.  Not picturing the whole horse's face is a bit unusual but makes for quite a powerful photograph and really enhances the emotional qualities that the viewer projects onto the subject.
