Vixey returns in her couple pic with Tod. Set before the events of Fox and the Hound: Rivals, Tod is enjoying some alone time with Vixey.

Here is the short story, leading to Rivals

Vixey snuggled into Tod as she nuzzled him, lovingly.

Tod: You love to snuggle!
Vixey: Mmm... I just love snuggling with my Tod!
Tod: Well I love snuggling with my Vixey! Escpecially when I can run my paws through your soft fur!
Vixey: I love you, Tod!
Tod: I love you, too...

Then Tod remembered what happened earlier between Vixey and that fox, Fennec.

Tod: Vixey? Can I ask you something?
Vixey: Let me guess... Fennec?
Tod: Yeah...
Vixey: Look, there's nothing going on between us... Fennec is just a friend of mine back in the day! Besides, why would I ditch the most handsome fox in the whole wide world for him!
Tod: I'm glad, but I just didn't like how he was around you!
Vixey: Trust me, Tod... my heart belongs to you... and you only!
Tod: I trust you, Vixey... I just don't trust that Fennec!
Vixey: Forget him...
Tod: Ok...

Fennec watched from the distance, hiding in some bushes.

Fennec: Keep nuzzling her, Tod! But know this... Vixey is mine!

He then held up the flower he got from Ronno

Fennec: That deer better be right about this flower! I just need to get Vixey to inhale the scent and she's mine... for now! The hard part will be keeping her hidden for a few days! But the real fun will begin within a few days, and no one, not even that stupid Tod can free her!

Fennec let out an evil laugh before going back and watch the two foxes. Vixey continued to nuzzle Tod before pulling him into a passionate kiss. Tod happily kissed her back.

Vixey will return with Fennec in Fox and the Hound: Rivals, which will not just set up the conclusion to this story, but also set up the first major crossover, Alpha and Omega: The Last Omega, which will see Balto, Jenna, Bambi, Tod, and Vlad make the crossover with Humphrey, Kate, and everyone from Alpha and Omega in one of the most darkest comics of the series as everyone is forced to take a side, fight with the Guardians or obey Sam. The only question is, who will emerge victorious at the end, the ending will be shocking!
