Ahh. Digital or film? Scanners can be your friend...

film, but I don't have access to a scanner. I could try to use the one at school if I'm sneaky about it.

Very nice, it brings back memories of my childhood, I used to live in an old log cabin & there was actually an old rusted out wagon in the field & it had wheels kind of like that on it. I also like the colors in the background also. Is that caused just by the sun or did you use some kind of filter or editting to do that?

Natural lighting, no filters. A slight edit on color saturation.
The shot was taken in the fairly early morning (between 7 and 8 iirc) facing east, which is why the mid-horizon pasture is so bright. Yet the fog provided enough natural filtering that the close up shot worked. Probably attempting that shot at the same time on a clear day would have washed out the forground and only allowed a silhouette to be taken.
This was taken at a ranch where they raise long-horns, and have a small walnut orchard. I worked there when I was going to college, and have remained friends with the owners since.

For some reason I can't decide do I find this sad or fresh. Maybe both. Forgotten memories, tears, a prisoner that you can run away. You just have to look the golden fields through a cage..

Thanks, for me it's poignant for a number of personal reasons.
- I helped build that fence a number of years ago
- the day I took that photo, I helped rebuild a section of the fence.
- the knowledge that I probably won't be able to help rebuild the fence in a number of years....

again eddy is a crack head sounds mostly bitter to my, my they arent the caliber of photographer. Anyhow. Another great shot. I love how the cows are there but out of focus. I agree with the colors, I think b&w would wreck this shot.

no problem you take good pictures. Maybe we can see this shot again with some color in the trees one time?

horrible weather problem again. background is honestly more distracting. i would rather see this against a brick wall or a fence then some cemetery looking place with trees

It was a foggy morning. Thanks for your opinion. I think the background adds, providing a country context.
I could see this in a cemetary context tho' - symbolizing the end of an era..

I really like the drops of water! It would make a great B&W! Keep it up!

Thanks! I thought about B&W, but I like the hint of fall with the leaves of color at the base of the wheel.
