A few hashtags are going around on twitter, namely #1stVideoGameCrush #1stCartoonCrush #1stAnimeCrush .
Really wanted a break from comic so I decided to make a proper little pic out of mine (well halfway between a quickie and a proper pic, I didn't do full production values for this). Really had to dig deep and I'm still not convinced there isn't a character or two that predates these guys, but yeah. This was... more intimately revealing of my taste in character design/girl fashion etc than I anticipated.
I was generous to my past self by drawing Sarah's current design, but the Virtua Fighter game I played as a kid was the PC port of the first, super polygonal one, which I clarified by checking the soundtrack. The nostalgia when I heard Sarah's theme hit me like a truck, I was obsessed with that song. Misty has her hair down because it wasn't until the first episode where she was shown with her hair down that I had the associated awakening.
