22 grueling hours. i'm going to go wild on the hair next
i'm still refining the face as i'm looking at reference pictures.

Normal clay as in sculpey? I can't work with sculpey for the life of me even though I bought some. Plasticine is easier to work with until you've been working with it for hours and hours straight because then it starts getting sticky.

I am going to cast it in plaster, then probably paint it black with a light silver/gold overlay to emphasize his features (more than likely).

And your sculpture is really great so far.
the nose and the lower lip needs a little tiny bit more work though,
but i'm sure you can/will do that.

lol thanks. I know, I've already worked on it 2 or so more hours since this last WIP. The hair actually only takes about 10-15 minutes. I've gotten my technique down. The only part that's bugging me is it seems his head is too wide and not long enough. I'm going to work on it a lott more today.

I'm glad someone finally has been critiquing it. I did notice the hairline was a little low so I already worked on that
