Description Another installment of my "What we leave behind" series; exploring the remains of civilization as found in their gods and their garbage. what exactly are we leaving behind? What will the future see when they look at our legacy?

This painting explores the concept of love. Flowers are often given to represent love, be it the love of a friend, family member, or a more romantic nature. the figure within the flower has the scars of open heart surgery, as we fairly universally feel that love comes from the heart, and like a heart, it can fail us due to abuse, disuse, or simply the decay of time. Beneath the water of the beautiful pond lays the remains of what were better times. the legs of a deck chair, rusting away. The plastic rings from canned drinks, and even one of the cans itself. Tributes to what once was.

Watercolors, slag metal, glass beads, moonstone
