Description For my Fashion and Fantasy Photography class. We had to shoot a child and a birdcage, the concept being "birds don't sing in caves". We also had to pull inspiration from Mark Ryden , whose work I adore.

The lovely little girl is my sister, Annie.

Photograph designed and taken by me

edit, 02.21.2006 -- worked a little more, tried for more of the macabre, dark feel. I'm mostly pleased. Just wish I'd had a better photo to start with...

Ok, that's creepy. I love the feather stuck to the collar of her dress - awesome touch.

I was wondering if I could use this image for a website that I am creating?
I will link you when I am finished and give you credit for your work.

Danke.

Great job and I think you did pull off a Mark Ryden feel.

Extremely effective image – the blood dribble, and all it implies, amused me...

Nice! I know very little about photography, so I'll comment on the design. I like how you've got a pyramid composition in the foreground (your sister and the stuffed animals) contrated against the vertical stripes. It playes up the "strangeness" ("strange" as "atypical") mood that permeates the photo, especially with regards to the fact that well, she's eating a bird.

I like how you can combine bizarre elements with an almost playful sense so it's not too creepy or too surreal. Excellent work!
