I really am impressed with this piece. So much detail has been put into this, it is amazing.
First of all, I would like to say I really like the color combinations you chose for this. Instead of going with real owl colors, you went with blues and purples, giving it a more mystical feel to it. All the different shades and hues also add the the quality of the picture.
I really like the detail you've put into this. It is really hard to do feathers, and you managed to do them just fine. It seems that to have made the feathers like this, you must have had to do each brush stroke one at a time, which gives it a more realistic effect to it.
Another thing I really like is how you kept the background nice and simple. This really helps to bring more attention to the actual piece. If you would have added a background it would have made the picture distracting and too much for the eyes.
One thing I could say is that you should have made the mid section of the owl a little lighter, because it kind of looks like he is just floating in mid air. Other than that, this is a really nice piece.

Love your owl! Very vibrant and and colorful, the eyes are striking, as any good owl should have those. Your color choices are phenomenal, all of them work flawlessly together.
One thing you may want to try is highlighting and darkening certain areas in your pieces. I'm not saying that this piece needs to be changed, it's just something that I like to do with my work. What I mean is making your white areas more white, and other areas darker for contrast, plus it helps in fine details.Β

I love this piece!
I thought it was a photo manipulation of a "real" owl from the thumbnail. Beautifully done! The colours are so striking against the black background, and they match and blend so well. Beautiful!

Aww! He's so cute! ( In an old person kinda way) He reminds me a lot of the cooky owl on Whinnie the Poo. Just the way his facial expression is. It's what i would Imagine Owl to look like when he's all serious and not telling stories from the old days. I really like this guy!

I like the colors that you used for this piece and even though they're similar in nature it doesn't make the owl blend together as one might expect. They eyes in particular are what draw me to it, they seem so expressive and the feathering around it is quite nicely done.

Great use of color colors. Almost a monochromatic painting, but it's more just blues and purples. Love the way you painted it, you can really see the texture and feel the feathers.

I love the feathers. How we know what they are but you don't have all that to much detail in them. Simple is best for me and you really captured an owl really well here and I love it all over all.Β
