Description
“I’m just a drop in the ocean, a change in the weather,
But I’ve been praying that you and me might end up together.
It’s like wishing for rain as I stand in the dessert
But I’m holding you closer than most,
Cause you are my heaven.”
- A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope
Imagine Coran has this idea that Voltron should put on a talent show to raise money and support for the coalition’s relief fund.
Matt, Pidge and Lance put together a dance routine. Hunk does stand up. Allura sings a beautiful altean opera song. Shiro does this kick ass, think Rush style, drum solo.
Shiro convinces Keith he should sing. Keith is reluctant. He is no longer part of Voltron, he is out of practice, and he doesn’t know what to perform. Shiro convinces him anyways and tells him to pick something from heart.
As Keith sings, it is easy to see how passionate and talented he is and the space fam are watching him closely.
Shiro is super proud and pleased of Keith and that he convinced him to participate.
Everyone can tell Keith is singing with conviction and wondering if he is singing about anyone in particular.
Lance is jealous about the fact that Keith performs like a damn angel and because he thinks Keith is singing about Allura. He is not sure who he is more jealous of in this equation.
However when Keith changes the “Just a boy who loved a woman like a little girl,” line to “Just a boy who loves a boy…” Lance turns to peek at Shiro at the same time everyone else on the team turns to look at him.
Lance blushes and crosses his arms and thinks there is no way Keith is thinking about him, but when Keith is finished and steps off the stage instead of joining them he walks out but not before he makes prolonged eye contact with Lance that is so intense, Lance is left shaking in the knees at the possibility that maybe Keith really was singing for him.
