- Vision : To me it's perfectly cropped. I find it interesting that the cat is slightly on the left side rather than centered.
- Technique : The background's color is complementing nicely without being distracting. And the cat is as detailed as possible. I especially love his whiskers. For that, I give full mark.
- Originality : I gave it the lowest mark because, honestly, you find cats portrait everywhere. Watching several cat lovers groups I can tell. Nonetheless, it's a VERY GOOD cat portrait ! That's what leads me to the last point...
- Impact : Browsing the deviations, I think not everyone will go as far as clicking on it, hence why I didn't give full mark. BUT, in my opinion everyone will stop at least a second to look this cat in the eyes. Because his expression is so intense that you just can't stop yourself.
I will not fave it because, as I said, it lacks originality. But it's a really great shot and it speaks wonders of your skills.

OH thank you! This was my first critique and i am happy about it. You are absolutely right about originality. That is the problem i am fighting with very often. Technique can make things look very good and stunning but doesn't touch the hearth.

I'm glad you see it my way. When I write critiques, there is always a part of me that is afraid of unfairness and/or hurting the artist's feelings.
Here on 
When you browse some very popular artist's gallery, you realize sometimes their work is not that original. Often it's even very repetitive !! But they're good at it and they know how to convey their feelings to their watchers.
To me they're the proof that very good technique can suffice. For my part I'm still struggling with "mastering my camera" as they say...
Lastly, I think publicity plays an important role. The number of watchers you have, the features you're in, the groups that features your art, etc...Sometimes I have four time the same deviation in my inbox

Sometimes it is difficult for me to share my thoughts in english but i try now.
To get popular here is really difficult i think.. because you have to deliver the same quality with every picture.
I've been thinking about that and that popularity is not my goal. My goal is to achieve more skills and train my eyes.
I would be happy if more people love my pictures but i am also happy about only one who likes it.
I took Photos since i was a child, not very skilled then, but i had always fun with my cameras.
If you love what you do, things can only get better.

Personally, I seek feedbacks, interesting conversations and making friends. Popularity for popularity isn't appealing to me either.
I just can't wait for holidays to roll by, have fun with my camera and take out my pencils and my nail polishes again. Pressure from my upcoming competitive exam really is taking a toll on me...
English isn't my first language too but I'm confortable enough with it. Actually I'm French, and you ?
