The picture is so pure and clean and beckoning, and I feel like jumping right in.. but hesitate when I think of the title.

Exellent Shot! ... beautiful colours.. And the Position of the Clouds makes the Photos goes with a Fluid Motion, in the Direction the Dog ran, so as this Future Feeling... really Nice!

i dont have a problem with this photo at all, its a really nice pic and i think that it was good to have the focus on the background rather than the dog seeing as the dog is such a small thing and the background which grabs the attention is the larger. In the thumbnail, i couldnt even see the dog. Also i'd like the comment on the reality of the large amount of blue in the top right hadn corner. I believe that there was no editing done here, it was just (wateva way u want to look at it) a fortunate or unfortunate circumstance that the clouds were positioned this way. Maybe this jefferson guy should leave some comments and silence some of these criticisms.
although its been the subject of a bit of critizicm i still love it and will deffinately fav it. good work jefferson.

Simple objects make the most wonderful pictures at times. This is one of them. Devastating combination. The sky is simply breathtaking.

Beautiful pic, the contrast of the beach and sky compliment each other very nicely. The quality of texture that stands out is superb as well.

i think its a bunny, u can see that its hopping by the footprints left on the sand, u can also make out the little furry ball that is the bunny's tail

I think the colors are amazing and the exposure is just fine. It gives it sort of a whimsical or fantasy-like feel. I like the composition, but I think the piece would have a whole lot more feel to it if the dog was in focus instead of the foreground(where absolutely nothing is going on). The dog just looks like a blurry spot. It takes away from everything else. The photoshopped area of sand doesn't look appealing at all. The sand has tons of noticeable texture, then BAM, there's a flat spot with one basic color.
Overall, a nice piece, but it could definately use some work.

Curse of future? Please excuse me if I feel that the title is poorly chosen. The picture is wonderful (save for the Photoshop work, which countless before me have already critiqued, and I am in no position to judge, as my photoshop work leaves something to be desired), and the choice of focus is superb. But as I said, the title seems to be slapped on. If anything, the picture instills in me a sense of hope, the wee pup running towards (or away from, I can't really tell) a brilliant blue horizon. The clouds add to the sense of happiness, for they are the puffy clouds that look like animals. Now, in my opinion, a photo titled "Curse of Future" would feature a scraggly mutt, slowly loping towards (or away from) a dark gray horizon, storm clouds filling the sky, maybe a lightning bolt. Now I know that's a harder shot to take, so I would recommend a different title.
But all in all, wonderful shot.

The very poor photoshopping on the right and the lack of any real focal point make this photo dull and lack interest, the colours also seem a little whacked out.
I'm sure some can see some sort of meaning behind this but i cant see how a photo's title could influence it so much, just because it has a whimsical title doesnt make it a better piece in my opinion.

I'm seeing a bit of the smudge but the exposure and focus really don't bother me. Tomorrow I'm turning in a photograph that looks a little (and probably was a bit) over exposed, it was a figure study and the figure appeared light and glowing, though when I added more time exposing the print in the dark room to make the print 'technically' correct it became just another shot of the figure, there was nothing mystical or even interesting about it. Perhaps that was the artists idea here? The clouds are bright and have that silver lining we seem to see from time to time. I believe that if the picture was darkened it would lose the sort of cheery feeling it has, the clouds seem whimsical and overpowering, why darken them or dull them and change the emotion? Just because it's technically correct??
Furthermore, as for the focus. The bottom probably could be cropped out a little to be less distracting but I don't really even feel the dog is the whole point of this image and with the dog not being the point why would the artist want it in focus? Maybe if it was zoomed in or cropped to just include the dog, then yes, it should be focused, but I'm actually enjoying the contrast of the light, softy, fluffy clouds and the darker, rough looking ground.
Then again I've not even been in photo 1 a full semester so what do I know.

As someone that has worked with smudging photos (to make them look better) I hope I can offer you some help. In my newest deviation, my smudge was too obvious. Why? Because the part I was trying to fix was too light and I didn't blend the colors well enough. You have the same problem in this photo. The sand and the horizon are too light for you to fix it without others noticing. However, if it was a dark color like black, you would have been able to smudge the color without others noticing. What were you trying to edit out?

Ooooh.... I love clouds and theese are pretty nice! I like the blue colour of the sky with the light clouds.
In my opinion, the pic is alittle unbalanced. I know the pic is perfectly divided in half, but the sky is "light" and soft and the sand seems much "heavier" and rougher, and gives the pic a slight unbalance. I like the way the ocean kinda "cuts" the middle.
The dog also fits in great!

Hm, well, this work is getting dumped on a lot. I have to admit the horizon does look a little strange, but I'd hate to deem the whole picture crap because of it. As well, the dog is quite out of focus and hard to see. I think the inspiration is there, but as is the case with a lot of photography, it was too much to handle at the moment the picture was taken.

A huge photo.. you should consider the subject, instead of the technique. You say focus should valorize the dog, not the background.. have you read the title of this work? Is it "The curse of the dog"? No one holds the strings of time, no clear individuality for this concept. Sub XIV, Bael.
A giro.
