Description
This illustration is from my Kickstarter project to create drawings of all of the unique creatures of the underworld from Professor M.A.R. Barker's wonderful Tékumel (aka Empire of the Petal Throne) world setting. It is based on visual reference graciously provided by the Tékumel Foundation.

"These great armored creatures have an iridescent green carapace, six legs, and powerful scissor-like mandibles. They attack only if they surprise a party, or if the party is a small one. Otherwise they scuttle away. They seek carrion, and whenever the party enters a room containing a recently slain being there is a chance that Dlaqó are there."
