Description Yes, that is a hand. Eerily it reaches from the mist which ensnares it. Grasping for what it doesn't have. This body drowns in its own memories, barely able to understand its mistakes, its dreams, its pain. With its last ounce of strength it reaches out in the vague hope that perhaps someone will see. Will help. With understand this terrible burden upon it.

Uhm, I don't know what degree of realism you were going for, but here are some pointers on how to better yourself. I do not mean to trash you, just trying to help you. If you fix the following (sorry, but it's a lot), this could be pretty darn good - it's a good concept, no doubt.

a) The fingers, part 1: they look like steel tubes or torpedoes of some sort. Fingers have cracks, folds, nails, dents, depressions etc. You might want to work on that. The general anatomy also needs work, you might want to look in the "golden spiral"-theory, a theory about how lengths should be in relation to the rest. Maybe you should make them darker and more in a clawlike pose to add to the mystery of the pic.

b) The fingers, part 2: if they are coming trough mist, they will be somehow faded and don't just abruptly stop. I don't know how thick the mist is, but some hint of the rest of the hand (low opacity coming trough) would greatly help the quality of this pic. The shadows are too hard, mist has organic shapes and the shadows also should be blurrier and "draped" over the mist. The shadow of the index finger isn't even connected. The angle of the shadow isn't aligned right with the lightsource as seen on the mist.

c) The mist: it's too plastic. Use a stock photo of clouds or something next time. Or if you don't want that, at least study one. There's a great deal to be learned by just looking at objects in reality. Also, a gradient of blue might look better with the white fingers than the pinkish purple you used.

Keep it up. It's all a process of learning. Good luck.
