Description As AMIP fans know, the movie is set in 1910, four years before the outbreak of WW1. So I'm sure that Raoul and Emile would go off to fight in WW1 and I imagine that both of them survived the war.
In 1919, Raoul, Lucille and Emile, decide to commemorate Armistice Day (as 11 Nov is called in France) to mark the 1st anniversary of the end of WW1, in the French countryside.
Raoul and Emile are in their army uniforms. The characters carry the blue French cornflower (France's version of the red poppy) and red poppies.
