It was on an early morning, the mist had not risen yet, the world was half-asleep ...Taken near ยดs-Graveland/The Netherlands.

Yes, skating is something you will miss, but not the fog and the rain ... Fortunately there are many bright days too! But we had no real ice at all this winter! So no outdoor skating!

i do a lot of rollerblading here in my community...so is kinda the same motion..............but with sunblock and hat !!!!!!!!!! LOL

This is lovely, a fairy tale.
It reminds me of the works of Arthur Rackham (that's because of those trees I guess, he used them a lot in his works) as well as the chapter "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" from Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows. (The piper referred to is the god Pan.) Van Morrison wrote a song based on this chapter:
"The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
The coolness of the riverbank, and the whispering of the reeds
Daybreak is not so very far away
Enchanted and spellbound, in the silence they lingered
And rowed the boat as the light grew steadily strong
And the birds were silent, as they listened for the heavenly music

To be honest I'm getting bored with it, it's too flat, apart from the Mendips, which are within easy reach. I've been here now for 17 years, think it's time for a move. To where, I don't know as yet.

To say the truth I feel the same about Holland! But with the camera I (re)discovered many of its beauties! And from time to time we go to Kiel. And sometimes even somewhere else, as to Normandy last year. There are worse places to live.
