Description
Last year, I took a 2-D design class, and for one assignment, we were supposed to create minimalist posters for movies of our choosing.

This is one that I created for Duma , which is one of my favorite live-action movies ever. (The acting is well-done, the African setting is amazing, the musical score is infectious, and the story is truly heartfelt and emotionally stirring, with echoes of Homeward Bound and Born Free.)

I decided to make this poster center more on the character of Duma, himself. For this, I consulted a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a cheetah in profile (idrawgirls.com/tutorials/wp-co… ). I drew it in pencil on card-stock paper, then went over the pencil lines with a brush-tipped calligraphy pen.

As for the title, I tried to keep it in the Herculanum font, which isn't so easy to replicate by hand as you might think... Still, I like how it turned out.

Duma is a production of Gaylord Films and John Wells Productions, and was distributed by Warner Brothers Pictures.
