Description Another illustration from my first Guard'n Gnomes story!  The fairy's name (for now, unless I change it) is Fifylock.  She is feeling bitter for a reason that has little or nothing to do with the tea.

I really like her design, her dress looks so soft ^w^

Nice!!  I wanted her dress to look like a flower but with a cotton-like softness!  I'm glad you see it that way!

The way you've lit this and the exaggerated perspective are both so fantastic, and I mean that both in a complimentary and literal way. I love when an artist isn't afraid to step outside of realism and bend the rules, and you're just so comfortable with it. Awesome.

Thanks my friend!  Some rules are there to be bent, I think.  This one turned out exactly as I had hoped (which is still rarer than I think it should).  Basically I've been trying to find an illustration style that fits this project and is still distinctly my own.  This is one that I just had to share (I'll likely share another from this project later this week).

Must be an autumn type fairy.

I'm now curious if she would identify herself as such.  I do have beings in my works that are of certain seasons but for some reason I had not done so with fairies.... maybe she IS an Autumn fairy!

The setting for this seems to take place in autumn. She has colors which seem to reflect that

Yep!  I just wanted to make her pink.  Pink too often ends up red and therefore looks autumn-ish! And that's fine!  I also now realize that she looks a lot like the Fay Queen.... That was NOT intentional!  I've just used up so many colour-schemes for them that it was inevitable that two or more would look alike.... Oh well.
