Neither of them wanted to get married, especially to one another. Lotor was the Prince of the Galra empire, the most hated race in the galaxy; while Raingät was a meager prisoner and rebel against the empire.

When Haggar announced he had to marry, Lotor wasn't thrill. But he slowly became smitten with her after watching her boldly defy Zarcon and Haggar, and cause a ruckus amongst other galrans and win using nothing more then her witts and cunning.

Reingät didn't care for him, but she respected him. He wasn't a good person, but he wasn't necessarily bad either. He had...somewhat good morals, compared to his father at least. At most, Rein found she could respect him.

On the day of their wedding, not a word was spoken. But between the two, plenty was said.
