Alita wins because of her ability to manipulate magnetic and sonic waves in close range. Superhuman abilities aside, Panzer Kunst has some relations to joint destructive martial arts like Wing Chun, Jeet Kun Do... but it looks like both use elements of Wing Chun.Β I've also read that the Major uses a form of Krav Maga which isΒ incredibly brutal joint destruction with less than a half meter of movement. In that way, the Major might have a tactical advantage, but Alita has fought plenty of enemies with one of her limbs mangled. Thumbnail to a shoulder joint; uppercut to the armpit; elbow grazing the extended spleen and muscles; axe kick to the trapezoid m. and caorotid... palm to the nose; obliqued front kick to the hip; knuckle to the oblique spine muscles; and Chuck Norris' favorite round-house kick to the traps, neck, and sternum. All of those are things that Alita can do or has done.

I could see this happening... But by the end of Last Order, Alita could wipe the floor with Motoko.

Alita vs someone who CAN AND WILL destroy her soul motoko kusanagi, plus lets remember this fact, both can be reduced to a microchip, but kusanagi happens to be a feared hacker and 1 of thee most feared female hackers at that, not only that, motoko can use alita's body against her, whilst using alita's own panser martial arts against herself

Motoko vs someone who is absurdly stronger, faster and that can nanomachine corrupt her before she even take a step.
Alita fought against hackers that on her universe are just as good as the Major, and unfortunately the inverse is not true, Motoko never once faced someone on Alita's caliber.
(Also worth to mention that Alita Universe is far more advanced than Ghost in the Shell Universe, with space travels, sentient and sapient computers, robots and even nanomachines.)

In an Arena setting? Alita all the time.
In the open city when the have to find one another? Motoko has invisibility and a more strategic mindΒ (Alita is more istinctual than a planner). In this second scenario we can have a real match.
