Those two episodes were probably the best of the season, because of three reasons:
1) They were among the most creative eps,
2) the ending ("They all lived, Rose!"),
3) JACK!!!!!!!!

That was the first Doctor Who episode I ever saw. It scared me..still did when I saw it again. But than it had a happy ending...so that made it better.

You should! The two parter, the other, "The Doctor Dances" are some of the best 9th Doctor episodes. Plus it's the introduction of Captain Jack Harkness.
