Description Bored at 01:30 and decided to make this.

The XMG12 (eXperimental Machine Gun, 2012) is intended for a multitude of roles that suit a medium machine gun (over 7.62 NATO caliber but less than .50BMG caliber): as a coaxial tank MG, as a tank gunner machine gun, as heavy squad support, etc.

------------------------------------

XMG12 Medium Machine Gun (Mobile)

Caliber: .408 JMMG (JackMag Medium Machine Gun)
Proprietary magazine size and type: 40-round quad-stack casket
Action: Short-stroke gas piston, rotating bolt
Type: Fully automatic mobile support machine gun
Effective range: 200 m (automatic fire), 600 m (controlled fire)
Stock attachments: Carry handle, fixed bipod, electronic ammo count display

---------------------------------

XMG12 Medium Machine Gun (Mounted)

Caliber and action identical to the mobile version

Proprietary magazine size and type: 100-round drum, option to direct-feed an ammo belt from a non-magazine supply into the drum
Type: Fully automatic vehicle- or location-mounted support machine gun
Effective range: 350 m (automatic fire), 1000 m (controlled fire)
Stock attachments: Carry handle, fixed tripod, electronic ammo count display (must be manually calibrated if feeding from an external source)

--------------------------------

I know what you're thinking, no, the carry handle isn't in the way of the sights. It's offset to the left.

Also, the bipod and tripod both swivel a full 360 degrees horizontally and about 30 degrees vertically.

Presented in standard dark graphite and olive drab finish.

Done in PMG 0.7 without custom parts

Why do you need a monopod extending from the grip? It would only get in the way. A tripod is good enough.
Also, what does the PEQ-15 part near the stock? What is it's purpose?

Eh, like said, 01:30 so might not have had the brightest ideas.

The PEQ-15 is used as the electronic ammo count display as mentioned in the description. It works like so: there is another lever in the magwell other than the mag release. When a mag is inserted, this lever swivels to a certain point after which the ammo display updates itself to reflect a full magazine (you can select whether you're using a 40-round or 100-round mag, +1 if not empty before reload). When the mag release is pulled, the display resets to zero (or one, if the count didn't reach zero before reloading). There is also the ability to manually type in the amount of ammo you have, in case you're not feeding from a standard magazine (this is done using a small numpad on top of the display).

That just seems a little too complicated in a stress situation. Do what most armies do and cut holes in the side of the magazine and estimate a value of the ammo left in the magazine. Think of the holes in the side of a traditional pistol magazine. See my point?

Also, it just seems like unnecessary weight and another thing on a weapon to fail.
