There is a first time for everything. And by all means, that includes illegal underground fights.

In Sophia's case, the 19-years-old had been fighting professionally for a year, after an extensive amateur career that spanned all of her teens, and already felt limited by the constrains of professional boxing and kickboxing.

So she took a train from cloudy Brittany to sunny Marseille, and through sheer stubbornness managed to find her way into an impromptu cage set up in the sketchiest part of a port city with an overall sketchy reputation, facing facing a colorfully haired woman introduced by the moniker "Big Kate", about whom she knew absolutely nothing about, other than what her eyes told her: she was older, built like a fucking tank and walked the cage like she owned it.

It was only 10am but the heat was so intense they were both sweating as if they has already gone ten rounds before the fight even started. So Sophia wasn't too surprised when the only words she ever heard from Big Kate (in an accent she couldn't place if her life depended on it) were:

"If you give me trouble in this fucking heat, I am going to fucking hurt you."
