Mean indeed! I certainly didn't intended for him to turn out as unsettling as he did, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't absolutely thrilled with how he turned out!
I had to stop myself from continuing, because I just kept making him more and more distorted and creepy -- and as much as I love a big bad Grinch, I still wanted to keep a bit of charm before I went too far.....I might have been too late -- but let's just say that he's been in a fight or two with the Abominable Snowman?

I seriously love how this turned out -- and were this not a character from the family friendly Jim Carrey movie of my childhood, I would have absolutely taken it farther down the horror rabbit hole (his design certainly lends to it!)

With that being said, it's about time I got around to airbrushing this green Christmas baddie -- I can quote this movie almost as perfectly as I can quote Pirates of the Caribbean...and considering this is a Christmas film, that means I've seen it enough to last several lifetimes.

This took me around 7 hours all said and done and is done on 16"x20" black suede illustration board with an Iwata Eclipse Airbrush, Createx/Wicked Airbrush Paints, black and white charcoal, and Prismacolour Pencil Crayons.

I also have attached the black and white variant pre-colour because I'm a sucker for grey scale.
