Description
This chalk and graphite pic depicts a world of spirits cast in shadow and glow; everything is sentient here, with mask like faces and shadowy forms. As they mature, their bodies become darker until the time comes for them to be born into the physical world!

The humanoid spirit was originally all I was going to do, but I realized the glow really wouldn't come through without something to contrast, so I penciled in the tree, flower and bird before deciding to add in the forest background. I had fun with this, and even though it was originally just a sketchbook piece I decided to add it to my portfolio as it really did turn out better than I was expecting!
