These are just as beautiful now as they were during the War. Sadly, they were much heavier than the FW-190 and BF-109, and the engines could not very power power a climb to any effect, or give stability at high speeds. This meant that they could fairly easily be outran, outclimbed, and outmanoeuvred by the FW-190 and BF-109.
Had the MiG-3 been lighter and fitted with better engines, the tide of war may have never shifted to Germany's advantage.
