Got the next two in the series! Finally!I struggled with both of these a lot. I don't like Lt. Surge a whole lot and I lost my initial .psd in a crash, which was both good and bad. Bad because I lost it, and good because it forced me to restart and the end product was much, much better. Same thing with Erika but I restarted because I just felt it wasn't up to snuff.
But yeah! All-in-all I was quite pleased with these two.

The Raichu in the second after image looks so cute, it's too much.
Also if I was a pokemon trainer I would hate fighting Erika's pokemon, my allergies would win.
I love the colour scheme, it works well with those pokemon.

I /love/ this series and can't wait to see the next part. Are you going only do the original Kanto Gym Leaders or might you do more?
For Lt. Surge, I think you did an excellent job one defining his muscles and body. Definitely giving you kudos on his hand, too. The line tapering is most excellent, too. I'm not sure how I feel about Lt. Surge and Erika having lighter outlines than the PokΓ©mon, though. Definitely makes them different from the PokΓ©mon, but the lighter color kind of makes them seem less important. As for the Raichu (which I'm guessing are all part of a Quick Attack?), I like the middle on the most. The mouth on it, however, doesn't have much color and the tongue isn't separated all the way. The right (our right) is really cute, too. I love its expression. However, its back seems to bend in a bit of an odd manner. The final one looks great, too. On the other hand, I mistook it for a Pikachu for a moment because of its size and direction of its ears. /: Overall, though I love how the colors change to show time. Finally, Electrabuzz looks most brilliant and kind of ape-like, my only complaint is that its antenna-ish things seem a bit uneven.
As for Erika, I think you did a most excellent job with making her seem graceful, but motion-y. I really like how all her PokΓ©mon form a circle around Erika, which makes her the focus of the picture. There's not all that much to Oddish or Gloom, but I really like how you made each one unique and have the leaves on each super cool and willow-y. As for the Vileplume, the one the left will forever have the best expression and definitely made me chuckle. The only thing that seems off is the white splotches that don't quite make a connected circle. Also I adore how you used the splatter-y effect for the powders, however might a darker purple work better for the pink. (Poison Powder, I assume?) There isn't much contrast between Vileplume's red flower and the pink. I do have ask why you didn't include color in the middle Vileplume's mouth or eyes, either. The Victreebel both look great and action-y. However, the one closest to Vileplume seems kind squashed in a weird way. Not sure how to put it, but it seems kind of off on our left side. Tangela looks fantastic as well; love how you did the vines. The one farther to our left's foot seems a bit small, though. Perhaps, it'd make more sense to make it a bit longer? Overall, though I really, really like how this piece turned out.

I'm going to stop at Kanto, maybe more in the future? But i've got other art things to attend to after this series.
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to comment and giving me
such an in-depth and awesome one at that. For the lienart, I just needed
something to make them different but I can see in that they make the
pokemon more important. For the raichu's I didn't put a tongue on any of
them so maybe you're mistaking it for teeth? The antenna things on
Electabuzz are uneven, i'll have to remember to correct that. Thanks for
the catch!
It was unfortunate that I couldn't give expressions to the glooms and oddishes but that's just what the composition demanded. I didn't really
forget to fill in the colors for Vileplume's eyes it's just that
the other plume's eyes and expressions were just lineart and these had
a hollowed part. I didn't do justice to the white splotches on the petals,
I'll give you that. For the squashed Victreebell, I wanted to emphasize
the landing motion of the jump. All in all, thank you so much! I hope you
enjoy the rest of the series!

Yo it's pretty rad that someone would detail their critique so greatly. Shows how much they care about it. In all seriousness though it is just an awesome piece of art. The way you draw is just amazing it inspires me frequently and I feel I've learned a lot from you. Just wanted to say thanks in a moderately awkward way.
I think I would comment on your work more, but usually I only try to if I've got something meaningful to say, your work is always flawless so theres nothing to say or complain about.
