Description Virtual Colosseum is a Prerendered 3D project for stereoscopic usage in a museum in Rome.
The task was to create a fotorealistic scene of two gladiators (Myrmillo and Thraex) fighting each other and to give to the museum’s visitors the possibility of viewing ancient roman relics in real 3D (stereoscopic) without having to touch them.
The whole project is really huge and has been realized entirely in 3D Studio Max 9.
I took care of all the modeling tasks (Colosseum and it’s decotrations and both the gladiators and their clothing).
Colosseum’s Decorative Carpets and Gladiator’s Skirts were simulated with ClothFX (I even created a new heuristic for the complicated skirt dressing based on helpers and published in my graduation thesis).
