I seriously get annoyed at how much everyone calls Regina a horrible mother just because she is the evil queen. Henry didn't seem to want of anything; he had a clothes, a shelter and a mother who was worried about him every time he had ran away. Sure she needed to hide the fact that everything was cursed but really no one would think he was sane if she hadn't influence the situation. Regina may be the evil queen but she's not a bad person and I wish that the town would realize this instead of letting the past dictate how they should act.

I agree completely! She even tried getting better, going so far as to risk her life two save two people she didn't even like, all for Henry's sake, and everyone basically ignored it. She really cares for him.
From what we see of how Regina treated him, he probably never would've had a problem (aside from the usual mother-son things, of course) with her if he hadn't known about the whole curse thing from that book. If he thought she was just a normal person and that Storybrook was a normal town, they probably would've been a perfectly happy little family.

I know, Henry has no reason to hate her. She raised him and gave him a good life, and has never been cruel directly to him.
