I'm aware the show is out now, but I haven't watched it yet. This is entirely canon divergent, as I've been working on this way before the show came out. And canon!angel!Adam is a completely different and separate person from my!Eve's ex-husband Adam. Also, I know Lucifer is super short and is shorter than Charlie, but in my fanon, he and Charlie are the same height. Because canon Lucifer looks like a kid in terms of height lmao.

After Lucifer finishes telling his story, Charlie stares at him, and she feels torn. On one hand, she's a major hopeless romantic, and her father's recollection of events tugs at her heartstrings. However, it's also complicated, because she reaffirms her earlier belief that Lucifer does indeed still have some love for Eve--more than he should--deep down. On the other hand, Charlie's always idolized and loved her parents' relationship for the saccharine thing that it is, that she's always known it to be, and she'd hate for anything to come between it, let alone if they never met in the first place. But Charlie shakes her head, hoping she's mistaken about her father's deep buried feelings.

"So...what ended up happening to Eve?" she asks timidly, to which she gets a half-hearted, numb shrug in reply. She offers a sympathetic smile. "I'm sure it's tough, though, your first love rejecting you, and having long since died...having only her memory to live on."

At this, Lucifer looks at Charlie, startled.

"What?" he asks, before shaking his head. "Who said--? No, sweetie, she didn't. In fact, Eve never died."

Lifting a brow, Charlie's confusion is very clear on her porcelain white face. "I'm sorry, did you say she...?"

"Yes, Charlie, she's still alive on Earth to this day," Lucifer confirms.

"I don't understand...how can she...?" Charlie says, completely confused. "How is Eve still alive, Dad? I remember hearing from that old story that God said if Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree, they 'will surely die'..."

At this, Lucifer lets out a hollow, but somewhat amused, laugh. He then sighs deeply and throws his stare to the ceiling.

"It's what He said, yes," Lucifer replies. "Adam and Eve would die, of course, but not in the literal sense. What really died was their naïvety. Since God personally made them, of course they're immortal. The humans who wrote the Bible didn't want to include that little detail."

Lucifer frowns. "I had hoped by Eve biting the apple and her eyes opening to the real world and how things really worked, she would realize she was unhappy with the plan God had laid out for her. So that she could see she's more than just Adam's property. Make her own choices. And I hoped her giving the apple to him would cause God to be pissed at him--which, He was, but it was moreso like being disappointed in your kid who got caught in the cookie jar...

"I just wanted Eve and I to be happy..."

With how broken her father sounds as he speaks the last sentence, Charlie feels her heart break as she looks at him sympathetically. Well, that explains how Cain was conceived. She has so many more questions she wants to ask, many are new. She wants to know more about Eve, about Eden perhaps, but most of all, more information about her half-brother Cain. However, Charlie knows her father currently isn't in the right headspace to answer any more questions. Going over the past was already damaging for him. Maybe Lucifer will answer more questions one day, but Charlie wants more answers now.

It's now that she looks at Lucifer with a determined look.

"You say she's still alive," she says firmly, "so I want to find her. I want to find Eve and ask her more questions."

Lucifer is startled.

"...Charlie, why do you want to do that?" he asks incredulously, but also defeatedly. "What could you possibly gain by talking to Eve?"

Charlie shakes her head.

"I...really don't know," she answers slowly, "but some part of me deep down feels like I need to do this. I can't rest until I do. I have so many more questions to ask about Cain, but also about Eve as well. And I know just answering my initial questions was already emotionally painful for you, so...I just...I don't know, but I feel like I have to talk to her. The cat's already out of the bag, right, Dad? So what's a little more prying?"

"...well, don't you have your silly little hotel to run?"

Charlie shrugs. "I have reliable people to look over things for however long this pilgrimage needs to take. Vaggie is trustworthy, and the Radio Demon is very helpful and can do anything. It'll be taken care of, Dad. So, please, I want to find Eve and talk to her."

Lucifer says nothing, giving a distant stare at nothing in particular as he listens to her reply. He ponders her demand. Is it a smart idea to let her do this? It could open a whole other can of worms, especially if Lilith finds out. Unfortunately, Charlie pulls out her irresistable puppydog eyes. Lucifer stares at her before ultimately relenting.

"Alright," he says.

He motions for her to stay put as he goes to a spot close to the drawn back curtain and reaches inside an opening in the wall, pulling out a locked box. Lucifer does a "come here" gesture with his finger, and Charlie obeys. By the time she gets over to her father, the box is unlocked, and Lucifer pulls out a necklace, which he gives to her.

"What's this...?" Charlie asks, looking at it curiously, having never seen this jewelry piece before. It's completely golden, and the centerpiece is that of an eye, the main motif present nearly everywhere in Hell, and it has three pairs of wings attached to it. However, there's some strong energy radiating from the piece.

"You want to find Eve and talk to her? Go ahead," Lucifer says in a guarded tone. "Go to the surface and look for her...all I know is that the last place she was recorded to be living at was somewhere remote in the country of Romania. But I don't know how long it's been since I last got that update. Though, I'd feel better if you took some of your friends for backup, since the living world is dangerous."

"Wh-what!?" Charlie gawks.

"Why are you so shocked, sweetie?" Lucifer chuckles briefly. "You said you wanted to find Eve. You can't exactly do that down here."

Charlie chews her thumb, flushing in embarrassment. "Well, I didn't mean to go to Earth...I-I just thought I could research, I don't know, connections to find a way to speak to her on the surface via phone call...or...something..."

As the words come out of her mouth, Charlie realizes how stupid and poorly thought out her idea was out loud. Lucifer is right, how does she expect to talk to Eve if she doesn't go to Earth? Hell, she probably doesn't even have a phone of her own; or, if she does, she probably wouldn't answer.

"Ergh...yeah, I guess I didn't think that sudden decision through too well, huh?" Charlie admits, rubbing her head bashfully. However, she quickly gets over her embarrassment and quickly begins to overreact and overthink again. . "S-Still, I-I...we can't go to the surface! I...h-how would I be able to? Especially with the others, they're all sinner demons! Heaven will surely know! I remember when Uncle Gabriel used to sometimes visit Hell, he mentioned something about an 'Observer Corps,' so there's bound to be some angels from that department lurking around! Not to mention many of the other angel departments that are allowed Earthly access...it'll get everyone in so much trouble with Heaven, and--"

"That's what the necklace is for," Lucifer interrupts, lifting a hand. "Wear that, and Heaven won't be able to detect your presence and Hellish auras at all. And these--" He pauses to hand Charlie a few rings with somewhat similar designs to the necklace, only engraved into the silver bands. "--are for who you want to bring. They wear the ring, they'll have human disguises and also won't be able to be detected, either. Nobody will know they're sinners walking amongst the living once more. They'll more or less maintain the appearance they had in life. There'll be some differences, so some of the seasoned angels who may have seen them in the past can't immediately discover them today by their former appearance of the past. The necklace itself is only compatible with you.

"Here's a bit of a heads up: the 'fresher' the dead sinner is, the more accurate they were in life. Those that have been dead much longer than, say, ten or so years, they'll look somewhat the same, but have some things like a slightly different skintone and whatnot. And you, Charlie, you'll look just like how you do here, but with human skin. Although, being Morningstar blood, your eyes can't be disguised. If anyone asks, just say you've got jaundice and you like to wear red color contacts." He laughs.

Lucifer gives a wink. "It'll be exactly as if all your friends are human again, with all the 'joys' that go with having Earthly bodies. The rings disappear from view until you make the motion of wanting to take them off." He coughs. "Of course...don't do so until you're back in Hell."

Charlie stares at her father, to the jewelry, and back again, her jaw hanging open. This is too good to be true. How could she have never known of this before? She knew angels wore human disguises on occasion themselves, so how in Hell's name does Lucifer have this stuff? Shouldn't being outcast from Heaven have him be stripped of such things? She finally closes her mouth and begins to speak again.

"Dad...how...how do you have these?" she asks quietly. "And why did you give me so much...?"

Lucifer smiles. "Your uncle Gabriel gave me these many, many centuries ago. He had some spare 'human disguise things,' as he called it, lying around, and decided to give them to me as a way to say thanks for doing him a favor. Don't worry about it, Heaven forgot those things existed, so the items aren't 'missing.' And since Gabriel is a fellow archangel, but still in Heaven, he can get away with a lot more~ Of course, Heaven doesn't know we still chat. As for the number of rings? Well, I'll have more peace of mind if you have more people with you as your backup rather than one or two. And of course, anyone can use them, regardless of status. Oh, just another heads up, though, when you guys are disguised, none of the sinners you bring along can use their special powers, if they have any; they won't be able to. Only you can do things, Charlie, since you're my daughter, but the most you can do is teleport from here to Earth, and other places on Earth."

Charlie says nothing, taking all of this in. She can go to Earth to find Eve? Well, that's fantastic, but the living world is so huge...and she's not sure where to even start looking in Romania. Her eyes meet Lucifer's again.

"Don't get used to this little field trip," he tells her seriously. "While Heaven won't notice you all right away, overuse can cause the stuff to lose its disguise power if you use them too frequently. After this, these will only be used for emergencies, got it? This instance is just...special."

Charlie just nods. "Dad, I...thank you."

Lucifer smiles in response, and Charlie gives him a tight hug. She pulls away, finally grinning.

"I-I'll be cafeful, Dad, I promise," she swears. "Thank you so, so much. I just can't believe this is possible...I'll let you know how things go once we get back! I think me and whoever I bring will leave in a couple days or so."

Lucifer sighs fondly. "Alright. Just remember what I told you. Be safe, Charlie. And I love you. You and Cain both, but don't feel like I don't care about you at all. I wish you all luck. Now, let's go, I've gotta get back upstairs to go back to my Kingly duties."

Charlie giggles a little and nods, the father-daughter duo leaving the secret chamber and heading back upstairs. As they walk, Charlie looks down at the necklace in her hand and feels a strong fire of determination burn even brighter within her, a gameplan beginning to form. She's going to find Eve, and learn more about her, and whatever extra information she can find out about Cain. But there's one more thing she wants to know, not related to that.

"Oh yeah," she says suddenly, to which Lucifer looks back at her, "I-if we can go to the surface, then...I want to ask you about something else, but not about Eve or Cain..."

Hooooof. Here we are with part 4 of my "Search for Eve" arc. I know the show is out now, but I haven't watched it yet. And regardless of canon, I'm still doing my story anyway, because I don't care, and because I've worked hard on it, and have grown attached to my fanon.

So yes, Lucifer decides to permit Charlie's little request, much to her surprise. Charlie didn't even know such a thing was possible, but here she is. Besides, there's quite a lot of stuff about Cain she wants to learn from Eve's side of the story.

Now, I know it's a shocking development, but this is my personal fanon, so I don't care. Like Lucifer said, stuff like this is only to be used for emergencies or important issues, it can't just be used all willy nilly. However, he knows this is very important for Charlie, so he permits it. And yes, the more backup Charlie has, the more comfortable Lucifer feels while allowing her to go.

What Lucifer describes is, again, my personal headcanon of things. So yes, Eve is still alive. inb4 "hOw iS eVe sTiLl aLiVe???" comments.

The mention of Gabriel...he's my friend Haesch 's OC who looks similar to Lucifer but is still an angel. Well, at this point, Gabriel is more of a "shared OC" between him and I, because I helped add some stuff of mine as well to him. I have his reference in my sta.sh, if anyone is curious enough. His human disguise appearance is very inspired by Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077, but he's not at all a dick like Johnny. XD

Well, this didn't take quite as long, since the backgrounds weren't as highly detailed. I had such a hard time with Lucifer and Charlie's proportions and stuff in the top panel, but I think it ended up alright. I did say in the previous part that the walls without the stained glass of Eve were painted to look similar to the Garden of Eden, but I opted out for this, because I felt it would have been too much distraction from Lucifer and Charlie. And the bottom panel, the shot of Cain was fun to do, but colors were annoying to try to figure out. I was somewhat inspired by the colors and stuff from the FMA Brotherhood 3rd opening with Kimblee, since that character gives off Cain vibes. I didn't even know about Kimblee's existence until well after I made Cain.

Also, I feel stupid. Apparently the white edge underneath Lucifer's hat has outlines. Oops. So I had to add that in.

Mmm...not sure exactly what else to say. My brain is fried and mushy from typing descriptions so long.

So yeah, loopholes, and Charlie is granted access. Because I said so. This is my AU fanon, so~

Let's just hope Lilith doesn't catch word about what Charlie is up to. Then Lucifer will really be "sleeping on the couch," as some comments have joked before. But whatever. All of the above stuff is, again, personal interpretation and musings. I've been dwelling over this stuff for well over a year.

Also, I had no idea what I was doing with the necklace lol. I like to think the wings can be retractable, I dunno. XD

I was somewhat inspired by the colors and stuff from the FMA Brotherhood 3rd opening with Kimblee, since that character gives off Cain vibes. I didn't even know about Kimblee's existence until well after I made Cain.

Also, I feel stupid. Apparently the white edge underneath Lucifer's hat has outlines. Oops. So I had to add that in.

Mmm...not sure exactly what else to say. My brain is fried and mushy from typing descriptions so long.

So yeah, loopholes, and Charlie is granted access. Because I said so. This is my AU fanon, so~

Let's just hope Lilith doesn't catch word about what Charlie is up to. Then Lucifer will really be "sleeping on the couch," as some comments have joked before. But whatever. All of the above stuff is, again, personal interpretation and musings. I've been dwelling over this stuff for well over a year.

Also, I had no idea what I was doing with the necklace lol. I like to think the wings can be retractable, I dunno. XD
