I just finished the first novel and I'm already shipping Toby and Tybalt like mad. I hope future books will have more great scenes with these two--and that they at least give a relationship a shot, however unlikely it seems at this point that Tybalt will openly admit that he likes Toby.
You drew both characters just beautifully. I love the predatory expression on Tybalt's face--and Toby's wary glare!

It's about October Daye (aka Toby) who is a changeling (half fae/half human) and works as a detective. She was married and with a kid but she was transformed into a fish for 14 years and when she comes back to human form her ex-husband and daughter want nothing to do with her so it's mostly her running around the fae world. It's a great mythology and the books have great character. Tybalt here is the King of the court of Cats; he and Toby hate each other. Kinda

I freaking LOVE these two, and I am disappointed every book for not having enough Tybalt in (but in love with all the rest of it). This isn't quite what I have in my head of them (who's imagination ever matches anyone else's anyways, right?), but this is still super awesome.

While I'm disappointed that the books don't have enough Tybalt, he's always doing something important and having a lot of UST with Toby so that makes me immensely happy. As I said to a friend: If these two are not the final ship I will eat my short

Maybe it's because of his name, but for some reason, I always picture Tybalt looking sort of... fancy gentleman-ish. Despite the leather jacket and all.
Psssh, of course it'd be me! I've got my finger on the pulse of what's good to read in fantasy.
I know, right! Lack of Tybalt is truly my only, only complaint. It's not even that I want things in the books to be arranged differently, it's more that I wish they were longer in order to have more Tybalt in that way! And oh my god, if they don't end up together, we can have a short-eating date, you and me. I'm personally banking on either the next book or the book after it having to in part focus on either Tybalt or the Cait Sidhe, in order to throw them together more, because as things stand by the end of An Artificial Night, the situation between them is getting rather impossible to ignore, and really must be dealt with sometime soon.

I was pleasantly surprised that in the third book Toby is aware of how weird things have been between them and that she was hurt that Tybalt avoided her for 2 months. And she was totally jealous of May at the end there...

A yarn ball of contradictions, and beign a cat, he'll justify none of them and peer down his elegant nose at you as if you are absurd.
I was pleased with many relationship moves Toby made in the latest book, from finally putting her foot down about her Selkie boy to realizing there's something more than mutual antagonism between her and Tybalt and beyond. And she so was jealous, although I get the feeling May wouldn't quite be Tybalt's type (even if it hadn't been already mentioned that when the Cait Sidhe fall in love, they fall hard, and he's been less and less subtle around Toby each time he sees her.)
Why isn't it here yet? :C So many books I want come out between January and April! I want them noooooow~
